Quotes

I'm a quote freak. I admit it. I stand up in meetings and say, Hello. My name is Rick Watson, and I'm a quote-a-holic.
When I worked for MaBell, there was a corporate library filled with motivational tapes, books and videos that employees could check out.
In all the years I worked there, I only saw a few people taking advantage of that library.
I drove an hour to and from work, so I had a lot of time. Most folks listened to the radio, or music on their cassette players, or cussed traffic. There's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't give one much room to grow.
I chose to listen to tapes, and later CD's and I think this decision enriched my life, and helped with my education.
Tonight as I tied to think of a subject, I searched for "The Best Quotes of All Time."
This one jumped out at me.

“When your life flashes before your eyes, make sure you’ve got plenty to watch.” Anonymous.

I smiled when I read these words. As Robert Heinlein wrote in Stranger in a Strange Land, If these words were read, by a "Fair Witness,"  they would judge them to be true.
I rest my case. go out and do something remarkable.

  1. I like listening to cd's, too. Right now I am listening to one on living healthy. My dad was a walking quote machine. My favorite- Better an old man's darling than a young man's slave. (he was 18 years older than my mother!;>) xo Diana

  3. I love reading inspirational quotes..my problem is my memory...I often forget the really good ones! I'm the same way with jokes. I hear a funny one and later it's gone! I admire people who have wonderful memories. My new focus in life is trying to live without fear..just pushing forward and enjoying each day. I hope to accomplish more by not letting the fear of something stop me.

  4. I also love quotes . It's amazing what people came up with.

I especially like to go back in time to find many things might look different but the most important things never change.I agree with your other blogger about the news today.
It just seems they have nothing to say anymore. They don't ask the right questions nor do they do proper investigative journalism because of fear of losing a job and or advertising.
So what's left to read and listen to then?

  5. I love quotes. I have a little book I write them in when I read something I like. They cheer me up, they make me wise, they make me think about things greater than my own little life.
