And in review......

Sometimes I struggle coming up with blog posts. Perhaps I'm whining, but then whining is not off limits here on Tuesday. Hey, it's my blog and I make the rules.

But tonight as I whined, I tapped a few keys into Google asking for blog post ideas. One of the first things that appeared was a suggestion to write about what your entry was X number of years ago.

I picked October 21, 2006 but it was as lame as a pony with a stone bruise, so I chose October 21, 2009.

This one was actually more interesting and evolved into a column.

I'd put copies of my second book at the local paper where my column appears. I'd given them several copies to sell in an effort to raise money for their annual shoe fund which buys shoes for needy kids during Christmas.

One of the books I'd donated was stolen from the counter of the paper and I wrote a humorous blog post about the "Book Heist."

October 21, 2012 was a Sunday and we'd spent the day recording songs for our CD. On the way home, I shot an incredible picture of the sun setting on a farm pond.

I never said that each of my posts were candidates for a Pulitzer Prize, but I think the important thing is consistency.

No one could ever say that I haven't been consistent :)

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

  1. You whine very well. (lol). I think I would write a post about the theft of one of my books also, if someone would steal on. hahahahahah

  2. I really enjoyed the Book Heist story. We have installed some home security at our house too when there was a series of burglury in our quiet area and the first one to set off the alarm was my husband. Man that siren is loud.

    Yes, you're consistent.......

  3. Rick, you have been nominated for the “One Lovely Blog Award.” Read more about it at http://notdarkyet-commentary.blogspot.com/2014/10/one-lovely-blog-award.html

  4. My brain was dry one day, so I have scheduled two old posts from the early days of blogging. That will be sometime next week.
As always, you speak wisdom and share beauty.

  5. I love these flowers with the vibrant colors.
    Sure brightens up ones day.
You are so nice to do these fund raisers for causes. I wouldnt know how to begin one.
Most of my life I did volunteer work for schools and causes other people started.
It sure takes up a lot more time than having a regular day job. Sometimes it's even harder work. My husband would come home and put his feet up and there I was pushing 18 hrs a day....I stopped when other people tried taking credit for all my work. I did things with a clean heart expecting and wanting nothing. It's not about taking credit for doing something but about making someone happy. If I do things again, it will be under anonymous.
    Those were great days.

  6. I'm too recent of a follower to know if your posts are consistent, but I'm sure having fun reading them.

  7. I like Book Heist. It's very good. I have a lot of security system stuff, besides Franklin. Willy Dunne Wooters installed cameras over the weekend. I have a live feed streaming on my desktop computer while I work on my laptop. I can see Franklin coming and going.

  8. Did some one say wine.................I am not a big wine drinker but if you are giving it away, oh bugga you said whine not wine.................oh well you can whine all you like doesn't bother me

  9. Your posts are always interesting because they're honest!
