Greening of Alabama

We drove about an hour south today to go to Cosco for some shopping. The landscape was much greener there than it is here.

Most of the trees have leafed out and the cherry trees are in full bloom. It's interesting how different things are the further south one travels.

Here, a few trees are putting on leaves.  The temps will dip down close to freezing tomorrow night and the tender things will fret, but I don't think it will be cold enough to harm them. We'll see.

The blueberry bushes here are in full bloom. I shot a picture, but apparently I moved when I took the picture because it was blurry.

Not to worry, I ran it through the Oil Paining filter in Photoshop and while it's not as stunning as it would have been had it been in focus, it has to do in a pinch.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

  1. Ahhh...blueberries...Jack's constant challenge in our yard! I'll show him the pic and make him wish for summer when our crop should be ready. Snow today...I'm Ok with it...sort of. Work this week went fine but tiring. My son Jack is heading down your way tomorrow and really looking forward to it. I'm hoping they find some warmth!

  2. I hope the cold spares the fruit. We always like to follow Spring NOrth, but tomorrow we will be in SC and according to the report, we will pass spring at the Florida line. But hopefully it wail catch up soon.
I know you guys had a good day out, A traveling day is good for the soul at times.

  3. That picture is so pretty and you are so lucky to see green. We had snow today and it is supposed to go down to -12C this eve

  4. We keep hoping for the green to become permanent. It will happen.

  5. Thank you for sharing your bit of Spring there. It is wonderful to see green and the blossoms too. Just as I was thinking we would finally be seeing green, a clipper moved through our area bring snow yesterday and now everything is white again. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too.

  6. Your blueberry bush is loaded, should be a good crop by looking at the photo.
Have a great time at your gig.

  7. It's not blurry; it's "impressionistic." It's all how you sell it!

  8. I am having a good weekend so far..............
