Evening in Empire

The sky this evening was incredible. I'd been to a meeting of our songwriting group and headed home after sunset.

Cooler weather move in Friday night so this weekend has been autumnish (is that a word.) Rolling the window down on my truck, I crossed rural hills and hollows as I made my way home.

A doe leaped across the road in front of me at one point causing my heart to sputtered momentarily.

When as I drove up the hill near our house, I had to pull off the road to take in all the color. Sitting there a long while, I pulled out my camera and snapped a few frames knowing that it could only capture a fraction of what I saw, but it would have to do.

It was another lovely evening in Empire.

  1. Autumnish is my favorite time of the year, except for winterish, springish, and summerish!

  2. I took a long walk yesterday and I totally enjoyed all the amazing Autumn colors... it was great to have the weather cool off as it kept me from becoming over heated xox ♡

It is beautiful. Everyone wants to capture what they see, but you are right, it is impossible to get it all. But this one is breathtaking, even it not the real thing.

  5. Autumn is just magical in its colours. This is a gorgeous sunset-it looks like God's hand used a orange marker across the sky

  6. I always have a "heart sputter" when a deer jumps out in front of me suddenly. Someone needs to teach them to look both ways.

  10. Beauty happens everywhere in nature and is constantly in motion but not everybody takes the time to stop and capture the beauty on camera. Well done my friend.
