Magenta Mushroom

We recharged soul batteries today. The wasn't a lot on the agenda so we took advantage of the downtime.

I read, did some manuscript edits, brainstormed, and of course we walked. Our niece Samantha hasn't had an opportunity to walk with us much this summer, so she joined us.

Midway of the field between the house and barn, I noticed a tiny mushroom the size of a nickel. I snapped a picture for the blog tonight.

When I started trying to "Name That Color" I couldn't. So I Googled the question. The closest I came was magenta.

I was afraid getting close with my phone would cause the image to blur, but it came out better than I thought.

Every now and then I need a day of rest. I think it behooves us all to find a day from time to time.

Do you enjoy a day of rest occasionally, or does it sometimes make you feel guilty to sit down and rest a spell with so much to get done?

  1. I don't have a problem doing nothing, but usually I can find something productive to do.

  2. It is a pretty little mushroom. Often my body just tells me that it will be a sleepy day and I listen.

  3. I often have days of not doing much but that is because my joints don't want me to move. I've been told to listen to my body by the dr's which is frustrating. On the other hand I try to do a little and I love to read, watch movies and create my cards. This mushroom is striking and probably poisonous. I would say it is either a deep magenta or a strawberry red

  7. Recharging the batteries of our soul SHOULD be an essential. Sadly I think it is one which is often neglected.

  8. Amen to Elephant's child.
But that little mushroom recalls meeting 'Mushroom' on the AT. He was hiking the 200+ miles to photograph the mushrooms on the trail. We were walking South, he North. He said, "IN the next valley just at the branch look to your left and you will see the most beautiful 'Watermelon' mushroom you have ever seen." We did and it was a giant, but the color you have there. I have never looked it up, I will now, to see if there is such an animal as a Watermelon mushroom.
Anyway I enjoyed the entry. have a great week. It is good to recharge (And yes it is hard for me to take time to recharge)

  9. PS There is a watermelon mushroom, but they are mostly green, I did find a few red ones. I don't know what yours is, but it sure is pretty.

  13. I've never seen a mushroom that color. I would have taken a photo of it, too!
    Lovely color....
Resting. Sigh. We all need to do more of it.
Enjoy each moment of rest. It refreshes the body and mind.
Smiles to you, my blogging friend.
