Missing the beach

We hit the road early this morning to make it south of Birmingham in time for a sound check. We
went on at 11 a.m. so that mean we needed to be there no later than 10.

Stopping by the filling station, I topped off the tank before stopping by a fast food joint for some biscuits. As we got back on the highway, we fell silent as we enjoy a highway breakfast.

The road down the Chilton County Arts festival is the same road we travel on the way to the beach. I remembered that we haven't been down to the ocean since January and that's too long to stay away.

With the holidays approaching, I'd love to carve out a few days and drive down and spend some time in the sand.

When is the last time you went to the beach?

  1. It is way too long since I have seen the sea. Decades I suspect.

  3. August, and we spent 3 weeks in July. We live 45 minutes away not from the beach, but in Jersey it is "The Shore."

  4. I see
Are Erie and Lake Ontario often but it has been a few years since I saw the ocean. I hope you both enjoyed it and had a great day.

  7. I paid a visit to our beach here on the shores of Lake Erie this summer . The last time I was on the shores of the Atlantic was was more years ago than I can count and the last time I was on the Gulf Shore was about 6 years ago. No matter what shore I'm on the beach is my favorite place to be. Hope you get to go soon.

  9. I love the description of the stop and a 'highway breakfast', for some reason I always enjoy that.

Yeah being 24 miles from Daytona, we must make it more our selves.

  10. Wow ... I guess the last time was in 2005; some 'company' island while on our cruise. When my kids began talking about driving down to the coast, I'd no idea Alabama boasted so much scenic beachfront! The water is mesmerizing, indeed.
