Happy Groundhog Day

Had the Groundhog been looking here today, he would have found no shadow, unless a hunter had him spotlighted. It's been cloudy all day.

I ate lunch at my desk at work and watched the rain falling on the cobblestone courtyard. Every now and then someone would dash from the main building toward my building with coats pulled over their heads to keep from getting drenched to the bone.

The mercury didn't look as if it was that cold outside, but I didn't wear a jacket this morning (against the advice of my weather-wise spouse) and I paid the price in chill bumps.

It was too gray for pictures with my phone, so I had to look back at pictures I took earlier in the week.

One picture that I shot on Tuesday evening on my way home captured a waning sunset and a waxing moon.

Jilda has the meatloaf, corn, and black-eyed peas ready. We're going to watch Groundhog Day for the umpteenth time.

I hope you've had a great day.

  5. I must be the only one who hasn't seen this movie. The Groundhog saw his shadow here yesterday so I would gladly trade you and Jilda 6 weeks of warm weather for 6 weeks of winter.
    Hugs,

  6. I havnt seen the movie all the way through. I need too I reckon.
Where I work, there are many groundhogs that sit outside their holes on the side of the hill. I wanted to get a photo for ground hog day but they are shy little boogers.

  7. I have to join the minority I guess. We have never watched the movie Ground Hog day. Now I reckon we should. But I remember Punxsutawney, PA. Before I learned better I used to love to drive on the two lane roads, away from the Interstate in our coach. So a trip thru Punxsutawney was in order. I had a blow-out just a few miles south. It taught me to stay on roads with room to pull off for emergencies. LOL But we never saw the Groundhog!

  9. I think it's cute you two watch that movie every Groundhog day! The only sunny day we had was yesterday so that stinkin' rodent could give us 6 more weeks of Winter! Oh well, Spring will come soon enough and I really don't want to wish away my life! Have a good weekend!

  10. It seems as if each city has its own groundhog. I read about several of them and they did not all agree.

  11. Meat loaf. There's an idea for a meal this week when the weather cools down a little.
