Fence Iris

I've felt a little off-center today. I'm not sure why. The oak pollen is brutal right now and I think my body is fighting off the dreaded GUNK.

The sun was warm today but it was much cooler than the last few days. We're playing outside tomorrow evening and we're hoping it isn't too cold to keep the folks from turning out.

During our walk today, I shot a picture of Jilda's pride and joy. It's an iris that came from her mom and dad's iris garden. She planted it years ago. the first time it bloomed was the year her mom died and it hasn't bloomed since.

I love this flower and we can smell its aroma when walking into the house.

  1. I planted my first iris bulb last fall and I noticed it's pushing up through the ground! (even through all our snow today!) I hope you don't get the GUNK and can enjoy your music!

Your iris is lovely. Maybe it's Jilda's mom saying hello!!

  4. It's a beautiful Iris very special. Jilda's mom would be happy to know that her Iris is still blooming. I hope your gig goes well this evening.

  5. I hope you continue to fight off the GUNK. And hope the cooler weather doesn't keep folks indoors and that you don't catch a chill either. The up and down weather is sometimes hard to take, but that beautiful Iris makes it well worth while.

  6. Irises are one of my favorite flowers and Jilda's is truly beautiful.

Hope the gunk doesn't take hold ~ I thought I had the gunk, but it turned out to be a nasty little cold. At any rate I hope you don't have to suffer from either one.

  7. Dear Rick, hoping that you stay healthy and that the gathering goes well with much song and laughter. The Iris blooming is surely a sign that Jilda's mother is near. Peace.
