Poplar Blossom

Some of the first blossoms have served their time and have moved on and the second shift is coming on duty.

This is a poplar blossom. Poplar trees are tall softwood trees. They use the wood for shelving and other things. The trees grow tall. Fast.

Walking today, I found one on the ground. The wind last night must have blown it from its mooring. My gain.

I start my new part-time job next Monday. They haven't announced it yet so I can't say what it is, but I will let you know when it's official.

  4. I think these blooms are pretty. My 6 year old niece picked me a full bouquet once. The problem was she left no stems to place them in the vase so I let her put them in a bowl of water to float.

  5. I do love to see poplar trees with their leaves fluttering in the wind, but have never seen their blossom. How beautiful. We are just beginning our first round of blossoms here. Forsythia and tulips and daffodils are a very welcome sight.

  6. Beautiful blossom!
I'm such a loser. From your description I believed we'd a poplar tree in front ... but no, it's a crepe myrtle.
