Snow Barn

After three days without sunshine, my mood started heading south. I felt myself getting a little snippy so this evening I walked down to the barn to stretch my legs and get some fresh air. Off to the west I saw the clouds beginning to part and the sun peek through just before it dipped behind the horozon and I felt my spirits lift.
I got a few scoops of corn to spread out under the apple tree for the deer because I know it's tougher for them to find food in the snow.
By the time I got back to the house and kicked the snow off my boots,
I heard Jilda saying "awwwwwww". I stepped back to the door and looked out to see our little deer family chowing down.
I don't really have a decent telephoto for my good camera, so I snapped this one with my trusty iPhone.
Not the best photo, but it sure beats no photo.
Tomorrow is supposed to be below freezing all day, but the sun should be out. That works for me.
I hope you all have a great Wednesday.

  1. We had a drab day here yesterday also. A bright snow covered day is much better than a drab day. Our temperature hovers in the mid teens. I think I'll call the florist and order some flowers. Not roses but maybe lillies. I need flowers!

  3. I was just noticing the sun's rays sparkling against the ice and snow on the dock across the lake. Nice to see the sun. Your sunrise photo is lovely and the deer pic is a sweet one as well.

  4. I can tolerate the cold so much better when the sun is out. It's been overcast here for several days now and I'm ready for some sunshine.

  5. I was in a funk all day yesterday from lack of sun. I woke up today to it and feel so much better. So true isn't it? Our deer don't come out till nighttime. Buggers are camera shy I think!

  6. Beautiful photos! We get deer pretty close to our house. There's nothing better than watching little fawns playing!

  7. We've had the same cold grey weather here, but the sun came out today in KC. It makes all the difference for me. I love it that you have deer that you can feed, and I love it even more that you feed them.
