Playing our first fair

You could hear children laughing before we ever made it to the fairway. The aroma of cotton candy and popcorn drifted on the evening breeze.

Thankfully we had reserved parking close to the stage, which made the chore of lugging guitars and equipment much easier.

I snapped the selfie below to document the occasion.

We were supposed to play at 8:30 p.m. but we were delayed. While we waited, our nephew James with his girls, Breeze, Daisy and Joy took us to the exhibition hall to show off the ribbons they'd won in the competition. Those youngun's are amazing.

After our performance, we were road-weary and headed back to the hotel.

Tonight the cotton sheets are calling. I hope you all have a remarkable weekend.

  3. Anyone who has the good sense to name his kids Breeze, Daisy and Joy is to be commended. How can you not smile at that?

  5. Nice selfie of the both of you.
My cotton sheets calls my name every night this month. I've been working till dark, come in and shower and hook for a short time and melt into my bed. I'm tired this morning as some young people were making a loud racket on the river at 3:00 am and they woke me up... 5:00 am, my alarm clock buzzed me out of bed.

    Have a great week.
    Hugs,

  8. There is nothing like a fair. All the food, exhibitions, animals, and entertainment. You just don't find those combinations anywhere else.

  11. Don't you both look adorable! Our fair is in September...it always means the true end of Summer to me. I just signed up to enter some photos. Unlike your talented kiddos I'm not expecting any ribbons! Hope you had a good crowd!
