Onward

I've been cleaning out the junk in the old house and barn for over a month now. Several trips to the dump later, and I can hardly see that I've made a dent. I made a management decision to go to plan B.

Calling the local recycle place, I put my name on the waiting list to get a dumpster. I'm not talking about one of those wimp dumpsters that restaurants use, but a REAL dumpster.

My phone rang today and the woman said my name had come up on the list. I gave her directions and about an hour later, a truck showed up with an orange beast. It holds 30 cubic yards of junk. I could put Rhode Island in that dumpster.

I then got on the phone for a neighbor that does day labor work. He's coming next week to help me clean out the rest of the junk in the old house and the barn.

Soon, I'll be able to process my honey in the old house as well as store all my beekeeping tools and spare parts. There will also be enough room for a writing space, an art space, and an exercise room to use in bad weather.

It's too late to back out now, I had to knock off a liquor store to rent the dumpster. Onward and upward.

They don't make locks like they used to.

  2. Celebratory margaritas will be the ticket when the dumpster is full. I hope you got the fixins when you robbed the liquor store.

  3. I tell Mrs. C it is called addition by subtraction, but she's not good at that kind of math.

  4. Tell the liquor store owner what you are attempting and see if he can help. He might feel sorry for you, give you a free bottle of Boone's Farm.

  6. When you got the money I hope you took a couple bottles as a tip. LOL Where there is a will there is a way, THEY SAY! A desire for a place to process that honey drove the bus to this point. I bet Jilda is proud of you and would have bailed you out had you got caught! LOL Great idea for the bad weather and art/writing rooms also. I love the hasp! that one is unique!

  7. One decision, taking up beekeeping, forces another.
Clean out the old house and the barn.
    Win win, you might say.

  10. Glad you got the dumpster because it takes something big like this. When my in-laws passed away, their children had the daunting task to clean the place up. They rented a dumpster for the aluminum and were told by the guy that to make it worth his while, they will need to have a ton....they had 8 tons! This was without the vehicles stored nor the 35 bicycles.
