Voted

We headed out early this morning to vote. We weren't the first, but we got in and out quickly. Our polling peeps all know us, but they still follow procedures. They look at our photo ID and verify that our names and addresses match.

They gave us a sticker that says, I Voted. I popped one on my shirt, and Jilda put hers on her eyeglass case, and we snapped a selfie outside the building.

Since I reached the age where I could vote, I've voted in every election without fail.

To me, it's more than a right – it's a duty. I'd feel like I was cheating on my taxes, or parking in a handicapped space.

If it was election day where you live, I hope you voted.

  1. Voting is compulsory here, but like you, I consider it both a duty and a privilege.
And, if you don't vote, you have no right to complain about whoever is elected.

  2. Sometimes no vote is actually a vote. It is a privileged that many have lost their lives for, we are lucky we have it.

  4. Florida is the only place I've lived where the poll workers don't check out the address on the driver's license.

  5. We feel the same about voting. We now vote by absentee ballot to keep out of the lines.
Voting is important, this is the best nation in the world, we should enjoy the privilege to vote.Sherry & jack

  6. Here we have the May Primary. I too feel it's a privilege and an honor to vote. Every vote counts!

  7. Some people have no idea what it means when you don’t have the right to vote. Glad you voted and that you consider it a duty and an honour
