Bon Voyage

Jilda and I are booking a cruise. We've been married since 1974. We've flown across the globe, and we've driven all across this country, but we've never taken a cruise.
We live fairly close to demarcation points, but for one reason or another, we've never sailed the ocean blue.
Her sister has been on several cruises and she always asks us to go with her, but it never seemed to fit. But the one she booked this summer seemed right so we're going on a Caribbean cruise and we're excited.
I'm interested to learn if they have yoga classes and/or singer songwriters who perform on voyages.
Maybe we could play music and see the world at someone else's expense.
I could write books, play music, do yoga, and see the world.
What could be better than that?

  1. Whoooo Hoooo...Have fun! You will both love it, I bet. We were married in 1975 so almost the same amount of time. I bet you could do all those things on the boat- sing and do yoga. I have really been thinking about taking up yoga-it has always interested me but I have never had time to do it. I think I will check into it here- Diana

  2. Jack and I were married in 1974 too! We took a cruise to Alaska in 2007 and loved it! I took a Carribean cruise many moons ago and that was fabulous too. Yep, tons of entertainment and classes of all kinds. I'd look into that if I were you. You guys could really have fun and get paid and get a tan..yep, I say go for it!

  3. There's nothing like a cruise. It's the best vacation you can have: unpack once and wake up in a different port every day. Working on a cruise ship is very different from working a land job, though. ;)

Which cruise line and which ship did you book? The image with your post is a Carnival ship, but perhaps you booked a different cruise company? You'll find different cruise lines provide very, very different cruise experiences. But, there is no such thing as a bad cruise.

    Enjoy!

  11. I've been on a cruise to Alaska and one to Mexico - they were wonderful. I think it is the most relaxing vacation a person can have. Each ship has lots of classes and things to do. I don't know if they all have yoga but all of them have gyms.

  12. We went on a Caribbean cruise about 6-7 years ago and it was a lot of fun. We didn't do a lot - mostly just kept to ourselves and laid around, but that was exactly what we needed at the time. The nice thing about cruising is that you can do as much or as little as you want. There's pretty much something for everybody. We stumbled on a deal they were having that for $100 the two of us could access the spa and the sauna as much as we wanted the entire week, and it was heaven. Our skin GLOWED at the end of the week and we were so relaxed! You'll have a wonderful time, and see some beautiful beaches!
