Love the sun

There were times today when I thought the sun might shine. At one point, the damp courtyard cobblestones had a sheen that caught my eye through the window.

My fingers lifted from the keyboard and I stepped to the glass to get a better look. Up in the sky, one section of grey cloud looked like it might allow the sun to peep through, but as quickly as it came, it was gone and rain began to fall again.

The tune to A Rainy Night In Georgia came to my mind.

So tonight, I looked back through my old pictures and found one of a sunset with a quarter moon. We needed the rain if only to remind us of how much we love the sun.

  1. Pretty colors in the sunset picture!

  2. Anonymous1:51 AM

You're a modern day philosopher, my friend!!

  3. I suppose you are right. I like the rain though.

  4. It seems we do appreciate everything more when we don't have it. Here we are having some beautiful sunny days, but they won't last long and normal dreary November will be the norm. We just have to be thankful for what we have while we've got it.

  5. You planted "A Rainy Night In Georgia" in my head and left me with "Here Comes The Sun."

  6. I do love the bleeding color, but even with the sun outside, I am singing 'RAiny Night In Georgia'. I just looked up at joeh's comment above. LOL I didn't get thje here comes the Sun yet! ;-)

  7. I always loved that song; We always need them both rain and sun so we can learn to appreciate both! Yesterday we broke a 105 year old heat wave record here 80 degrees. But I will not be fooled Old Man Winter is creeping over the mountains as I type you!
Simple pleasures will always be free...

  8. Now I have that Rainy Day in Georgia in my head. We had rain again yesterday. The sun is semi out and those fall clouds are rolling in. It feels like Fall is really here..

    Have a great day.

  9. The photo looks like an Impressionist painting.

  10. No sun shine here just rain
