I had a little time to kill on Friday between interviews so I went into the little community grocery store in Mountain Brook.
They had some of the most incredible flowers I've seen in a long time.
I'm not sure what it is, but flowers seem to make food taste better. Have you ever noticed that? I mean, I could be eating hamburgers and fries, but if there are fresh flowers on the table, dang if it doesn't make the burger more tasty!
One of my blog buddies, Jacqueline (with her sister Victoria) has a great blog. It's called Beauty in the Ordinary and they do an incredible job of pointing out beauty that's all around us. Their blog is always fun to visit.
In a few more weeks we'll be planing our garden and with it, we'll plant flowers.
Last year they bloomed until late autumn. We had sunflowers as big as saucers.
Spring is a fun time around the Watson household. I hope you all have a remarkable week.
Flowers just make you feel better all over I think. They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYep! You are soooo right about the flowers. I got to visit the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in N.C. recently and it was such a blessing.

You must be in touch with your other side...lol...my hubby is a "recliner diner" and just wants the plate with his meat already cut up. I asked if he wanted me to predigest it first or what...we are such a cute couple..lol...
ReplyDeleteIt will be around Mother's day that we plant flowers and the garden. I just love them and go crazy! I love when the local nursery closes right after Father's day and has the best sale in the world! I'm with you, I love flowers on the table! Before I forget, thanks so much for your offer of a donation for our Boy Scouts, but they did fine this weekend and have a few more projects to finish up and will have plenty of funds for camp! Thanks so much though!
ReplyDeleteRight now I have tulips on the table and it just feels like spring...even if it still looks like winter out. I can hardly wit to plant...but it will be Mother's Day weekend before I can.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about "Beauty in the Ordinary"...I read iand enjoy it too!
Will have to check their blog out. I love finding edible flowers. Pansies are a favorite with goat cheese on a salad of fresh greens.
