Think Time

I heard chanting Cicadas this evening as I walked down to the barn. The drone is almost like the trick your ears play on you when you experience total silence.
If you listen long enough the critter sound changes pitch and it sounds almost as if they are changing gears on their straight-shift voices.
This sound is like a harbinger - autumn is near, autumn is near, get out your long underwear, because autumn is near.
I sat on bench at the barn for a long while. I don't sit around and think, observe, and contemplate enough. It always seems there is so much to do, that sitting still is a waste of time. But think time is an investment.
I won't be doing any think time tomorrow, as I will be signing books at a local gift shop tomorrow. That always seems to take a lot of energy.
I've run out of steam tonight, so I'm making this post short. Y'all have a great weekend.

  1. Exercise your fingers. You're going to need the strength signing those books!
