Behind me

Thanks for all the well wishes for my oral surgery. It went well. One moment I was talking about my work at the college and the next moment I could hear the surgeon and nurses talking. They sounded as if they were off in the distance, but when I opened my eyes they were standing over me.

At one point, I felt the suture thread on the corner of my mouth. And then it was time to go. As male nurse was wheeling me toward the car in a wheelchair, I asked Jilda if she wanted me to drive. Jilda and the male nurse snorted with laughter.

The afternoon was low key. I spent most of the time on the couch reading magazines and books that I'd been holding on to until I found time to read them.  I also caught up on my blog reading.

I'd been dreading the surgery for weeks, and I'm glad it's behind me.

A new fashion statement incorporating a mobile ice pack

  1. Now that's a look I'm familiar with! Glad all went well but be sure to take it easy!

  2. Thank heaven for mobile ice packs. REALLY take it easy. A picture to remember - good thing the surgery was with anesthetic.

  3. You do resemble Santa a little bit there with your white ice pack! A fashion statement for this time of year for sure! Hope you a doing good now and not in much pain. I remember one of my sons having wisdom teeth out and starving so he filled up on mashed potatoes.

  4. I've had just about every treatment a dentist can provide and so I know going to ther dentist is not fun, but you wear that bandage with style.

  5. Well big guy, I guess that means to keep your mouth shut for a while heh! Actually, you can wear the headband around the top of your head when you go for your walk. haha. I'm glad everything went well.
    Take it easy.

  6. I can relate! however Imma thinking Jilda had something to do with the design of the bandage and icepack. LOL
    Enjoy the recovery time..

  7. I guess you won't be going on tour this weekend.

  8. I wish you a speedy recovery. Your ice pack reminds me of the mumps slings we used to have to wear.

And very glad that it went well.

  11. You're all wrapped up like a Christmas present.

  12. I bet you're glad this is done! I'm glad things went well and very glad you didn't drive:)

  13. Glad it is over and went well, here's hoping you are all well by Christmas Day
