I think of You

Jilda and I are playing at Berkeley Bob's Coffee House next Saturday so we spent the afternoon practicing.
I worried after yesterday's close encounter of the Swiss Army Knife kind, that the finger might be stiff or playing might be painful, but neither was the case. The bandaid made things a little cumbersome but the finger should be fine in a day or two. Thanks for all the concern and comments last night.
We try to do new material each time we play so that people hear things they've never heard before even if they just saw us last week.
This evening I went back through some songs we wrote last year but had never polished them enough to perform. I came across a friendship song that I think we'll start doing. It's still a little rough, but I think it has potential.
Here are the lyric -- Jilda sings it

    I Think of You
Last night in the middle
Of a most delicious dream
I woke and dialed your number
To hear your voice on your machine
I think of you, I think of you

Sometimes in the shower
Or driving in my car
I’ll remember something funny
And wonder where you are
I think of you, I think of you

Chorus
People come and people go
Some never cross your mind
But now and then, you find a friend
That’s with you for all time
I think of you, I think of you

Bridge
The road may sometimes take us
A million miles apart
But you will always be
Right here in my heart

Someday in the future
When the two of us grow old
Money will not matter
We’ll have memories of gold
I think of you, I think of you

  4. Glad to hear that your accident with the finger doesn't seem to be impeding your guitar playing too much. Those words are beautiful. I would also love to hear you play and Jilda sing. Is there anyway you could do a little video for us? I'm sure we would all enjoy that. Just a thought!

  5. Hey, thanks for popping over to my site and leaving a comment. Much appreciated.
Hope your finger gets better soon, I had to go and read the blog about how you hurt it. Ouch, these things happen so quickly.

  11. Wish the LOC and I were close enough to stop by Berkley Bob's on Saturday night.

Maybe next time ... I liked the I Dream of You song, and it reminded me of Fannie Flagg's latest novel. She is also from Birmingham, AL and sets the novel in your fair city. Her book is called I Still Dream About You. :)

It is a good read. Happy weekend to you and Jilda...Marsha

  12. Thanks all. We are honing the new songs down and we plan to get our friend Dale shoot some videos of us down at the barn.
Hopefully we can get that done in the next couple weeks.
Once we do, we'll share them out with everyone.

  15. I love the lyrics - they remind me of my best and oldest friend. We've been friends since the 6th grade and the years haven't dulled the friendship even though we've 2 states apart (CA and WA) I'm looking forward to hearing it sung by Jilda when you get a video together. I'm sure it's lovely. What fun to perform like that!
