Red rock

I dreamed about the desert last night. It could have been something I ate, but what's more likely is a snippet of a conversation I overheard as Jilda talked to our great niece.
She told Jilda that she'd never been further west than the Mississippi River. Jilda began telling her the places we'd been.
We drove through desert when we visited Arizona several years ago. We spent our 30th anniversary in Sedona, Arizona. It was an amazing week and we have tons of pictures. Our great niece said she'd put Sedona on her bucket list.
Here's a photo I shot of the red rock.

  1. This is a great photo of a beautiful place, Rick. It has an artsy quality to it, almost like it was painted. The desert west is a very special part of our country.

  2. I just love the way your pictures turn out...very cool. I want to go to Arizona. I went out West back in 2000 as a college graduation present, but we did Colorado and South Dakota...

  4. Is that part of the painted desert I've heard and read about?
It's one place I want to see if I ever win the lottery and travel.

  5. I have never been to a desert in my life, but I am intrigued to go. In fact, the farthest west I've been in Louisville, KY! Crazy eh?

  6. Dear Rick, for me, dreams are so ephemeral. I have such a hard time remembering them and yet I know that a dream and the emotions within it can affect my whole day. I seem to feel joyous or happy or sad and there's no reason except perhaps that during the night a dream took over my life. I hope your dream of the desert was as happy as your trip with Julie on your 30th wedding anniversary. Peace.
