Spring can't be too far behind

It seems for the most part that we've been in shadow for most of this winter. We've had sun, but we had a lot of rain and went weeks with skies as gray as woodsmoke. The last few days were the exception.
I arose this morning and teetered into the kitchen to punch the brew button on the coffeemaker.
The days are getting longer now and I noticed the light on the persimmon tree outside our window as I sat down on the couch to check my email on my phone.
It's been a while since I've seen that quality of light. I stepped close to the window and shot this picture through the glass. Surely spring can't be too far behind.

  1. I hope you're right!

  2. Love the warmth of the light in this photograph....

  3. We are still snow covered but it is melting fast and we will soon have spring weather again. Up north the roads are blocked People were telling my husband its a good thing we left or we would have been snow bound for 3 days. The roads were all closed.
Sure will think twice before doing a trip up there again this time of year unless I want to stay a while. lol

  4. I love the picture Rick, I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your column this week... I have linked back to your blog in and a few others of what has inspired me... have a great weekend and oh yes... please let spring come soon :)

  5. I've noticed the light earlier and earlier and later too. Spring, oh spring where are you! My garden is tilled, the seeds are ordered...bring it on!

  6. We had rain today, so perhaps we are getting some relief from our drought.
    The photo was lovely.

  7. That is a GREAT picture! What a study of sun hitting an object. We are having snow storms all weekend. I think Spring has stopped WAY SOUTH of our house! xo Diana

  8. Another big storm heading our way this weekend. I hope March does bring the Spring...Or the rain you get down there will be my tears! I have been enjoying the lighter mornings and evenings. Have a great weekend!
