The real world

Shields UP! Captain, there are aliens to the starboard! Should I engage????????

This was how the conversation started this afternoon when I picked up my great nephew Jordan. He's six and LOVES Star Wars, and Minecraft. His imagination is on warp drive whenever he's around me.

The instant we were out of the parking lot, I went into character. Alien cows at 90 degrees to port. "Missiles fired, they have been neutralized."

Should I engage hyper drive????

It went on like this until we were home.  When he looked out the window of my truck and said, "The chickens are out."

I breathed a sigh of relief to be back in the real world.

  2. He should love the new movie when it finally comes out. I saw on TV this morning that there is a new light saber. Besides the light shooting straight out there is also light coming from the sides of the hilt. It looks like a cross of light. They refused to say how it is used.

  6. Great post, Rick. I laughed all the way through while reading it.

Jordan is so funny and kids can switch from one idea /activity to another without blinking.

  7. I laughed out loud at this! Your Jordan reminds me of my Jordan at that age....that is totally something he would have said! I love that sweet homey pic of the flower and the cute curtains. Have a good weekend! P.S...I had to leave the original Star War flick back in the 70's..right in the middle because I went into labor. Jack drove in hyper drive that night to the hospital. I always tell Craig he could have been named Luke or Chewy!
