It's been an interesting. The last few days have been like riding a roller coaster. The good news is we survived, and in the scheme of things, we didn't lose anything except a few night's sleep and we didn't do our daily posts on our blogs.
Many of you have sent comments, personal notes, left voice mails on our phones, and Facebook messages. We are truly blessed to have you all as friends.
As of last night, we had power, lights, and water. We still don't have Internet connectivity, but we'll have that in time and we can get back to normal.
I've gone out these last few days and took pictures, interviewed survivors, and I shot some heart-wrenching stories and video that I'll post once we get online.
This evening, I think we're going to plant our garden. I know that might sound strange, but after three days of tremendous stress, digging in the dirt just feels like the right think to do.
Y'all take care and hug your family and friends each chance you get.

You know, there just really aren't any words to describe the sheer noise, power and fear associated with something like an F5 tornado. The same system dropped 2 small (F1) twisters in our area; no lives lost, no injuries, but the roof damaged on the school and a heck of a lot of small damages, trees, lines down, etc. I simply cannot grasp what it must have been like down your way. But I am thankful you and yours are safe, and pray for those who lost everything.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe and so sorry to hear of the loss around you. I grew up in Oklahoma so I have seen a lot of tornadoes, but your storms have been beyond awful.
ReplyDeletePlanting a garden seems like just the right thing to do.
I've been following the news here too. The devastation and loss of life is just horrendous.
ReplyDeletePlease take care and stay safe! x
You start out with "It's been an interesting" You know the old curse, "May your life be interesting." SMILE
ReplyDeleteI am so relieved that you guys are OK. Seeing what happened in your area was gutwrenching. I can't wait to hear what you have to write about. It must be humbling when you come out unscathed and others have lost life and homes.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's the "getting back to the mundane things of life" that make us feel the most secure.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're ok.
Digging in the dirt is cathartic. Hope life becomes normal soon.
ReplyDeleteYou a re right...sometimes you have to do something everyday and ordinary to fend off the stress. The basics ground you and help you to be of help to others. Blessings and prayers for all.
ReplyDeleteplanting, renewal is a perfect activity after destruction.
ReplyDeleteI understand the urge to dig in your own dirt. I can only imagine how horrific this all must seem. I am praying for all. Love Di ♥
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about you and Jilda today and I'm glad to hear you are alright. I've never even seen a tornado, I can't imagine how awful this has been for people.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you and Jilda are OK and life is returning slowly to normal. I find the simple tasks and good hard work both make stress subside a bit. Thanks for the reminder to hug all those we love.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are safe. Doing that gardening will be a great idea! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're both OK
