Sleepless in Empire

It's rare that I have to set the alarm but Jilda teaches an early-morning yoga class on Wednesdays, so we set the alarm on Tuesday nights.

I'm not sure why, but sleep is fretful whenever we set the alarm. I woke up a half dozen times looking at the clock to make sure I hadn't overslept.

Tonight, I can barely hold my eyes open, so this will be a picture post. I shot this picture a few years ago, but I came across it when I was looking for something to post.

I hope you all slept better than us. Have a great Thursday.

  2. Lovely.
I too sleep fitfully when I have set the alarm. And usually give up and get up some time before it is due to go off.
I hope you have a better night tonight.

  3. It's rare these days that I set the alarm, but like you when I do, the fear is always there that I'll wake up late. Any way I did have a good nights sleep and hope you got one too.

  4. I thought I was the only one who does not sleep right when I have to be up early the next day. It is not good to know that it happens to others but I feel better even so.

  5. I have been feeling anxious at nights too. Im always looking at the clock and cant get back to sleep. My fitbit wakes me every morning on time and hasn't let me down in 2 years so Im not afraid of over sleeping. I just want to sleep. I think its the waking up in the dark thing. I don't know.

  6. My son and I started watching a documentary about Ralph Steadman last night. I fell asleep about ten minutes in (not a comment on the documentary). I got up this morning and let the dogs out. Then I slept for about six more hours. Maybe I'm coming down with something, or I'm a sleepaholic.

    Love,
    Janie

  7. When I set my alarm I lie awake all night waiting for it to go off. I've yet to be awakened by my alarm.

  8. This is a beautiful photograph.
I love this time of the year here in the Deep South.
The temperatures are mild, and the colors are lovely.
