Fun weekend

It's been a slow news day here. The rain moved out in the early morning hours, but trailing clouds made for a gray morning.

I had an encounter with another snake after the company left last night, and this one wasn't one of the harmless ones. There's a story here, but I plan to write about it in my column for next Sunday, so you'll have to wait to read that story.

As a result of the encounter, I spent a great deal of time doing some long-neglected yard work. When I finished, I looked as if I'd showered with my clothes on, but it felt good.

It's been a good weekend for us. The kind of weekend that brings a smile to your face when you look back on the pictures.

I hope it's been a good one for you all too.

  1. Kudos for garden work after snake encounter. Experience here teaches that if the serpents are left undisturbed, they return each year to nest. Hard work, I know, but rewarding.

  3. We have the garden variety of snakes here and even though I live in the city, we still see one now and then. Thankfully not often at all. Hope your yard work got rid of yours. The weather here couldn't have been more beautiful and I enjoyed the time outdoors, just being lazy.

  4. You appeared to have showered with your clothes on..... My daddy always said that was washing your body from the inside out.

Of one lazy guy dad once said, 'one drop his sweat would cure TB.'

BTW< Looking forward to another 'Snake Story'.

  5. Looking forward to the snake story and which kind of snake. We have garter snakes and rat snakes. We are supposed to have the Mississauga rattler but never seen one. It sounds like your weekend was wonderful-glad to hear it

  6. The weather threw the whole weekend off.It was not supposed to rain but it poured. Then the temperature was so high and the humidity joined it. I was happy to stay inside and comfortable.
