Sunday

We sat out on the deck early this morning and drank coffee before the sun rose all the way. I'd planned to start walking outside in the field today, but the heat moved in. Before we finished coffee, it felt as though I was wearing an electric blanket. I walked inside from one end of the house to the other.

This evening, Jilda cooked baked chicken, potato salad, green butter peas, and coleslaw. He brother's family came over and "dinnner'd" with us along with our friend Fred. It was good seeing everyone. But one thing I've learned with this surgery is that visiting takes a lot out of you.

I hope your Sunday has been stellar.

  1. Heat plus pain plus having to carry on with recovery exercises is exhausting. Glad you posted today.

  3. Our bodies are wonderful machines and give us so much but rest is the best way to recovery. Dinner sounds fabulous! Have a great Monday!

  4. Visitors do cheer us up when we cannot get out and about, but can be tiring. The heat can be tiring too even if you are inside. Take it one day at a time and don't give up!

  6. Surgery always told me that I was older and that I was not immortal. Having visitors who come to see how you are, those are truly exhausting. It is hard to be nice when you are in pain. Just saying.

  8. I’m certain you are getting better every day and Jilda is making sure you don’t overdo it. I am hating this weather and am sick of it. I can’t wait for cooler weather and turn off the a/c.

  9. At least you were able to get some exercise, and probably a lot safer to be inside rather than on uneven surfaces. Rest is so important too.
